day of errands

Yesterday was a day full of errands. During this day of errands I had Elise with me all day, because of this I now have many cute Elise stories all from one day.
So we had to go to the Health Dept first thing in the morning. When we got into the parking lot I noticed she had a booger hanging out of her nose which I tried to remove but she swatted at my hand and said " no no mommy! is my booger!" lol
While we were there she went and hi-fived every person in the health dept and all of their children even babies. Some of them several times. Because she was so good I told her we would go to the park. As soon as I mentioned that word that's all I heard " mommy? we goin da park? So she told me "Mommy, da pone! talk to daddy mommy? on da pone" so I called him and she told him " daddy we goin to da park"
When we got to the park she made me go down this huge green slide with her like 8 times but I had to keep helping her up all of these steps, when we were leaving the park she was sooo upset and kept crying "no oh no da park!" and we drove by an elementary school with the play ground outside she said " mommy is a park! ets go!" so I told her baby that is a school not the park. She said " mommy ets go to school!" So I told her "Elise honey you are to little to go to school" then she started to cry and said "mommy, I wanna go da school, I pwomise" mostly to me it looked like she wanted to go to recess. lol
Then later when Josh got home from work we went to the grocery store and bought her a dr seuss book because she was so good. I read this book to her no less than 4 times in one night. As we were leaving the store she interrupted her daddy in mid sentence and said " daddy, hey go dis away" and pointed the direction we were actually going. lol
Anyway I think that is all I cant think of anything else at the moment.

Pregnant

Im sure everybody already knows but I figured I would do a blog on it anyway. So I found out about a week ago that I am pregnant. According to my mother and her wheel of due dates at work this kid is due September 5th. That totally sucks because I have to be pregnant and huge all summer. So I am hoping for a 15 days early baby and then it will be born on Nathan's birthday which would be pretty awesome and then I would get 2 weeks of summer to not be huge. lol
My parents, Inlaws, husband and elder brother have all put in requests for a boy. I personally dont really care what I have as long as it is healthy since I got what I wanted in the form of a little girl already. Only thing im a little worried about is that if it is a girl everyone will be so disappointed and I dont want her to know that was the reaction to her being a girl. If that is the reaction at least I can tell her that her sister wanted her to be a girl.
I tried to explain to Elise that she was going to be a big sister and that wasnt she excited about having a baby in the house and asked her if she wanted a little brother or little sister. She thought about this for a second and said ( while putting her finger to her chin and mouth) "hmm, Brober or stister?....Mommy I wanna stister" I keep trying to tell her that it is a possibility that it will be a brother but then she gives me this look like " EEEW MOTHER PLEASE! Boys are gross!"
We have already picked out names too. If it is a boy it will be Gabriel Joshua and if its a girl it will be Madeline Grace. This is long enough except for I thought I would share that today I was trying to brush Elise's hair and she said "NO! NO! Mommy! Is MY hair!" lol

vacation review/ so far

Today Josh and I went to Graceland since he had never been. He actually liked the decorations in that place. Since Elvis decorated it, I learned that strait men should not decorate anything. Yesterday we went to Shiloh battlefield. Josh LOVED that so much that we are probably going back tomorrow since we kind of had to rush through it, we got there so late. While we were in the cemetery, which is right by the river, (and where there was a skirmish in the battle) we both heard gun shots. Being that we live in the middle of nowhere and people shoot guns all the time where we live it was just sort of registered on a subconscious level for both of us. Today though as we were talking about it we remembered that there were like 40 deer we saw in the park since they cant be hunted there, a national park and realized this park is big and also that the use of a gun is illegal that perhaps we heard a ghostly shot. Apparently this is one of the most commonly reported "haunting"

I have called home several times to talk to my mom and Elise and today I was talking to my mom and Elise kept saying to her while reaching from the phone " mommy, talk" so I talked to her and asked her what she learned in church today. My mother said she thought she was tryign to say something about " I am a child of God" but all I heard was jibberish and " Jee-Jus" which is how she says Jesus. It will be a sad day when she learns how to say it correctly. :-( Anyways she talked and talked to me about a bunch of stuff I had no idea what she was saying but I did hear her say " wanna talk?" and apparently at this point she had placed the phone up next to a stuffed animals ear so it could talk to me too. lol
I have such a sweet little girl. I got lucky.

new stories

My mom's mother has always insisted on being called "grandmother", and I guess there is really nothing else left for Elise to call her because she already has a Nana, Mimi, and Grandma. So Grandmother it is. Except she cant actually pronounce grandmother. Instead of Grandmother it is "mam-mum-mer" which I think is about the funniest thing ever. I keep asking her who that is and pointing to grandmother just to hear her say it. If its not "mam-mum-mer" its "mam-mer" This totally reminds me of my cousin Chase when he was a little kid, sounds like something he would have said then. The way kids say things are hilarious. Like I remember when he was a little kid he said " bansty, bum ober here" (nancy, come over here) and my niece Alexandra when she was two had a song she sang which would help her learn her alphabet. It went like this " A, Aah, Alligator. B, Buh, bumble-bee. C, suh, Cat. But when she got to D, duh, dog she would say " D, duh, GAWG" lol which we all thought was hilarious and would ask her to sing constantly. IM sure as a 9 year old now she wouldn't find it funny but I still do. Anyways this has probably been the most random post ever. And I cant think of anything else to write at the moment so it must end here.

Phillip C. Hendry

So Happy New Year. It hasn't really been so far though for me. My best friend growing up, her little brother just died on Monday. I have known this kid since he was 2 years old. It is soooo shocking. I wake up every morning and keep thinking, surely I dreamed all that and there is no way that a 19 year old kid could have contracted pneumonia, sepsis, and West Nile all at the same time and West Nile in the winter but every morning I wake up and it is still true. But the fact that those 3 random things were all coupled together seem like such a weird combination that its almost like you can see God saying " Ok, its time to bring Phillip home" This makes me feel slightly better. I say at least 3 prayers a day for his family, who were like a second family to me growing up.
Goodbye Phillip. We love you and we will all miss you.
